Stockings look great with skirts, costumes or dresses and can be wonderful for a woman's self esteem. They are generally worn with an outfit such as a corset, or suspender belt that attaches to the stockings to hold them in place.  Hold-ups are stockings that don't need a suspender belt to hold them in place and instead have a silicon or rubber band at the top of the leg to ensure they don't slip down of their own accord or when you least expect it.  Tights cover the entire leg up to the waist and offer convenience during everyday wear.
