Stockings and Hold Ups

Stockings and hold ups are the close fitting garment, which are common in both underwear and lingerie. Not to be confused with tights, they only rise to the upper thigh, meaning that pants of some variety must be worn with them.  Stockings can be worn for warmth or even convenience during every day wear, however when it comes to sexy underwear they are used primarily for fashion and tantalizing. Although they contain the legs, they end short of the upper thigh and can be very revealing when accompanied with the right combination of underwear.

Stockings and hold ups differ in that hold-ups have a silicone strip on the inside at the top which fits against the skin and stops the hold-up from sliding down.  Stockings don't have this and are prone to slip or slide down unless held in place by a garter belt or suspender belt.

There are several assortments of stockings, however there is one particular variety that is undoubtedly the most popular. This is of course, a fishnet stocking. Fishnet stockings are those that resemble the aesthetic of the name they bear. They are made up of wide holes, which reveal large portions of the skin and are only really decoration against the body, providing no heat or solid protection. These are particularly popular due to their association with deviance and sexuality.
